RESOLUTION
Whereas Jesus prayed four times for the oneness of His followers (John 17);
Whereas Jesus died so that God could gather together as one, His children (John 11:50-52);
Whereas People who cause divisions and dissensions for the wrong motives are compared to
those involved in idolatry and sorcery (Galatians 5:19-21);
Whereas Oneness is a core Christian value in scripture (*);
Whereas the Church has divided into 32,000 denominations and independent churches with
accusations of disorder, greed, false teachings, diabolical influence, or heresy;
Whereas Jesus stated that only at the end of the age will the true Christians be separated from
the false (Matthew 13:24-30);
Whereas Each part has a special purpose for the growth and health of the Church and is so
important that no one can say another member is not needed (Ephesians 4:16,
1 Corinthians 12:12-27);
Whereas Jesus taught us to pray God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10);
Whereas God withholds our forgiveness if we refuse to forgive others (Matthew 6:12-14);
Whereas The purpose for oneness is that the world would believe (John 17:20-23), which
compliments The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20);
Whereas Oneness will awaken many to faith in Christ, which will also beneficially impact the local
church, Christian ministries, and society as a whole;
Whereas Joshua 7 & 8, 2 Chronicles 20, and Acts 4:29-31 provide a model (Kingdom Driven
Prayer) for a gathered nation or Church praying to find help from God;
Whereas Hebrews 4:14-16 states that since we have a great high priest, Jesus, who understands
our weaknesses, we should approach God with confidence so that we may receive
mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need;
Therefore, the Christian leaders in the Orlando area, who agree with the Nicene Creed, now make
the following resolution. We (or our chosen representatives) will gather on the dates and locations
according to the attached schedule for corporate repentance and to seek God regarding what we
should do to fulfill His will for our oneness in Christ.
