Hi. I am James Howard Johnson, and I am the founder of The Church Gathered. In fact I am the only one working for The Church Gathered, and I do it in my spare time. But these are yet early days, and I hope that this will change as people recognize the need and are called to help.
I appreciate any donations, but would rather find volunteers who have time to invest. Many people have spoken up for the need for Church unity, but have little idea how to accomplish it. God gave me a vision to see this accomplished with a plan of action. For this reason, I am going to the Church’s pastors, priests, staff, volunteers, and other believers in many denominations and para-churches. I can continue to fund this work on very little. If this is where you think God has provided for your offering, your gift is a valuable, I very much and humbly appreciate it. Thank you. Come alongside me. Your gift will help the work move forward in three ways. It will fund the expenses of reaching people with the message of this movement, it will enable planning for the worldwide gathering of Church leaders, and it will show the Church leaders that the movement has strong support. Transparency and Accountability So far, I have received $150 in donations outside my family. I pledge transparency and accountability according to the level of financial support. I will provide timely updates on future contributions by others. A separate savings account has been set up with Wells Fargo under my name for the sole use of The Church Gathered purposes. Funds received will only be used for The Church Gathered purposes. I am not yet registered as a non-profit but would welcome help to do this. Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God. 2 Corinthians 2:17 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. Hebrews 11:8-10 |
